StoryCorps Csenge Balazs

The first story I listened to on StoryCorps was “A Family Built On The Dance Floor: Reflections From A Father And Daughter” with Carl Levine and Chloe E.W. Levine. There was an intro given by a narrator of some sorts that gave background information on the two people regarding their relationship and giving context to the dancing they do. The intro was told was music in the background that was slow and related to the story since it was country sounding and Carl and Chloe do country dancing. Once the intro was over the music ended and the conversation between Carl and Chloe began. At times it felt like the two were telling the audience their story but there were also moments that felt like they were specifically talking to each other. The ending was short and sweet and was followed by music fading in that was similar to the intro music but not exactly the same.

The second story I listened to was called “Her Aunt Saw Her for Who She Truly Was” with Dee Westenhauser and Martha Gonzalez. Once again there was an intro with calm background music that gave context to the people within the story. The music and intro then faded out to no background noise and the story began. I truly loved this story because it is very wholesome. It tells the story of two people and the interviewer does make an appearance in this story when they ask the interviewee one question. The story ended with music beginning to fade in to let you know it was over.
