Still the One Analysis

So, um…I will be completely honest. I am not at all sure of what to do here, as this type of assignment is completely new to me. As far as I understand from my syllabus for this class, I am meant to analyze one of the videos we were meant to watch on Storycorpx as part of the assignment, and then write down my impressions of it. So…here I go, I suppose.

Right. Let’s start off with a technical analysis of what we have. Still the one is three minute, and twenty five second long video that relies on narration done by four different people, as well as 2-d style animation through which the story of those people is told. Now, as a person that has worked with video-editing before, and understands how much time it takes to create something of the like which is shown in this video, I have a healthy appreciation for the amount of effort that must have gone into making something like this. For example, while the visual and audio aspects of the video are both equally as important, and have a equally relevant role in making the final product more digestible, it is doubtless in my mind that it is the animation that is hard to produce.

Do not get me wrong, I fully understand that there is very likely quite a meticulous process to editing and cleaning audio as well. There are certain ways that the audio should be cleaned and filtered, some background noise to be removed, and how to make it synchronize with the video in order to make it look smooth. I do not wish to discredit the amount of effort something like that must take, however, it is also doubtless within my mind that the editing and animation process must have taken way more effort.
