Before being enrolled in this course, I have never truly thought of the sounds that occur in our everyday lives.
From the sounds we hear from the moment we wake up, to the last sounds of hearing the white noise before we drift off into sleep are all part of our human, conscious minds and is something we should take in.
For me, this was the sounds of the traffic that I hear on a daily basis from my apartment’s living room. I hear the muffled engines that rev up as they increase speed going down Trinity rd., it’s the honking at the people walking down the sidewalk which sounds like a quick, yet loud horn that alarms me, it’s the whisk of the tires treading the street, and sometimes it’s the music being blasted outside of their windows.
No matter if it’s a car driving past me or if it’s a squeal I hear from an animal outside, I am in constant reminder that the sounds I am able to hear are actually a good thing. I am blessed to have the capability to hear sound, and hear it well. Without sound, life would be pretty boring.
