If you are a college football fan, chances are you are very familiar with this tune. It is the intro to the SEC on CBS, a 3:30 game every Saturday during college football season between two teams from the most superior conference in the country. Right out of the gate this song comes out with some type of piano or organ to grab the viewers attention. When you hear that, you know it’s time for football. What I like about the theme song is the constant drum beat throughout the song. Then comes some type of brass instrument, maybe a trumpet. This is the familiar tune that families all across the south grew up listening to, including myself.
A cool thing about instrumentals is that there are no words, which means you have to determine what the song means. Since this song is so upbeat, it obviously is intended to pump you up for the big football game about to happen. Usually when watching live, the commentators will start talking about the game over the instrumental. I think this was recorded by an orchestra at some point, as there are so many different instruments present and it all flows well.
