“You raise me up”

Here is the original version of “You raise me up”

You raise me up – Secret Garden

This version is composed and performed by Secret Garden band. The song is a part of “Once in a Red Moon” album released in 2001. Secret Garden is known as one of the great composers all over the world. Their music is often accompanied by symphonic instruments. In the album “Once in a Red Moon,” they used piano and violin as the main color for the background music. However, through the original version of this song, we can still feel the melodious and soaring music like listening to a symphony orchestra. Attached is a voice that is both smooth and deep, but also powerful. It is an extremely harmonious and reasonable combination of two vocalists Brian Kennedy and Tracy Campbell. Personally, when listening to this original, I feel like drinking a sip of pure and cool spring water.

However, I didn’t know about the original version. The first time I listened to this song was the version of Westlife band.

You raise me up – Westlife

This is a completely different version from the original. Although still retaining the classic of the song, the background music and vocals are also somewhat more modern. Later, when I found the original version, I was really surprised with an overflowing emotion that it brought. I also tried listening to other artists’ versions and each brought different colors. Objectively judging, the original is still more soulful to me. But Westlife’s version still sounds well-done, they used to be a part of my childhood.

It is true that a song can be staged in many different ways and according to the style of different artists, thereby creating different feelings for listeners.
