Suspenseful music is often used in films and movies to keep the audience engaged. It often starts at a low tone and is quieter and then it picks up the speed as it becomes louder which intrigues the audience and ties them in more and more. Suspenseful music is used extremely often that I do not really notice it when I am watching a movie, however if it were not in the background then movies would seem so much more awkward.
This shows how much the audience needs this background music to feel engaged and really feel the horror in the movie. It is so crazy to me that the music makes such a difference and i can feel it literally raise my heartrate.
